Connection Method Indicator
Located in the status bar of both consoles, the Connection Method Indicator is a visual indicator displaying the Connection Method set for magicVORTEX.

In the pictured status bars (above), the blue arrow indicates the location of the Connection Method Indicator.
  Standard Mode

In Standard Mode, communications with the Relay will be unencrypted. The major benefit of transferring while in standard mode, is that data transfer rates will be faster than while in secure mode. The indicator displays an empty area (pictured above) while in Standard Mode.
  Secure Mode

In secure mode, all communications between the Client and the Relay will be encrypted. Although the data transferred will be encrypted, the actual transfer rate will be slower than that achieved while transferring in standard mode. The indicator displays a small blue lock (pictured above) while in Secure Mode.

Which connection method should I use?
If data encryption is not an issue, then Standard Mode should be used, since the throughput will be the higher of the two modes.
If data encryption is an issue, then Secure Mode should obviously be used. The throughput will be lower while transferring in this mode, since all data needs to be either: encrypted prior to sending or de-crypted upon receipt.
