magicVORTEX(sm) RELEASE NOTES

All versions of the magicVORTEX application are compatible with any 
other version for the purpose of sending and receiving files.

New in Version 1.8:
	- The Grid Console is now the default console after a fresh installation.
	- Extra protections have been added to file handling to prevent data loss under poor network conditions.
	- When no console is visible, a pop-up notification window will be displayed for a short time.
	- Fixed a bug that prevented the program from using a 8KB packet size.
	- Forward slashes are now supported within filenames on the command line.
	- Internet Explorer's "Work Offline" mode is now supported.
	- Grid Console now supports 9,999 simultaneous files instead of 200.
	- The Open and Save dialogs retain the last chosen folder.
	- Fixed problems when logging in with bad password when no hint was provided.
	- The default Maximum Cage Size setting has been increased to 2GB.
	- The magicVORTEX Relay setting has been removed.
	- The Log File setting has been removed.
	- The Cage Path setting can no longer be directly edited.
	- Added My Account and File History links to the system tray menu.
	- The Change Password feature is now only allowed when online.
	- Grid Console now has a minimum size.

New in Version 1.7:
	- Fixed the File Information window from displaying incorrect Aborted date & time
	- Fixed video mode detection flaw that causes the program to exit on low color modes

New in Version 1.6:
	- Larger packet sizes
	- Command-line interface
	- "Send To" support in Windows Explorer
	- Increased resilence to Internet communication glitches
	- Ctrl-V hotkey for pasting files
	- Cage is now stored in the Documents and Settings area

WARNING: Upgrading magicVORTEX versions 1.5 and earlier should not 
	be performed while transferring files.  Your current settings 
	will be reset and the file locations will be moved.
	
	Please complete all your active transfers and save all your 
	"Ready to Save" files BEFORE applying this upgrade. 
	Otherwise, data may be lost.

	- Microsoft Windows 95, 98, Me, NT 4.0, or 2000 
	- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher 
	- Internet Connection (direct or dial-up) 
	- Proxy support through browser
	- VGA: 640x480 or higher resolution, 256 or more colors
	
Known Issues:

	- No Digest Authorization mode for password protected proxy servers
	- Address Book only supports Windows Address Book
	- Must drag entries from Windows Address Book to recipient dialog
